It was part of a Guardian Kid's Book Review thing, and I loved it.I have a feeling I've read The Girl Who Fell from the Sky before, or at least a book by her?
Now is actually on my to-read list, I really liked Once. I've not read the Gemma Malley book that is nominated, but I read another book by her, The Declaration, and it was great!
I'm currently reading Monsters Of Men. The 2nd book was actually shortlisted last year, and the 1st one the year before {I think}. I didn't really like them but I've been told MoM is the best, even if you hated the others.
I read The Fool's Girl, and enjoyed it but rate Sovay and Pirates! and, of course, Witch Child and Sorceress far above it.
As for the Kate Greenaway books? I want to read them all.
My school runs a Carniege shadowing scheme where we read and discuss the shortlisted books, and it's great fun. I'll probably end up reading some of the books on the list before it happens though :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
